EBT, No tax for Sprite, revisited.

Here's my problem (in Texas). There are three tax buckets, so to speak.

  1. Taxable - normal stuff, like grocery bags, pots, and pans.

  1. Taxable-Foodstampable - Normal people pay tax, but EBT people don't. Things like Sprite, Chips, etc.

  2. Non-taxable Grocery - regular food (apples, meat, seafood). No one pays tax.

How would you set up the taxes in RMS so that an EBT customer would pay tax on grocery bags but not on Sprite?

*** Also *** when you press F12 to tender, how do you tender just the FS portion to EBT and the rest to cash/check/cc?

Set the option "allow food stamp for this item" in the option tab for each item, create a new tender & in the tender type choose food stamps. In pos scan all items press F12 for tender, go to the tender you created, the tender screen window will display the acceptable amount in ebt, enter that amount move to the cash tender & finish the transaction as usual.
