We have a customer running on RMS 2.0 and they want to accept EBT as a form of payemnt. The processor they are using supprots EBT and they already have the proper paperwork filed with the US Dpet. of Agreculture. How would I setup RMS to accept this payemnt type? What settings do I need to enter into the EDC config? How will RMS know what items are allow to be paid for with EBT?

You are going to need TPI to make this work and there are still problems
1) any item using the EBT payment type has to be configured to accept foodstamps in RMS.2) if the EBT card in your state has the cash portion incorporated in it you will have to make ALL items able to accept food stamps to be able to use the cash or food side of the card on the transaction
Because of this you have no way to make sure that the beer and wine that is in with the other food isnt paid with the food side of the card. my customer found it easier to just get a free machine from the state and create a tender type called EBT.
