The "Preferred Provider" integration built into RMS will not auto-dial a connection, but if you open the connection manually before trying to process the card it will use that existing dial-up connection. Also, if you use PC-Charge, it will auto-dial. Using an always on connection will be much more convenient, but the card processing doesn't really require broadband speed. You might consider a broadband router that includes a modem fail-over feature.

ICVerify also supports modem connection and it integrates with RMS with no problems. It also supports a broadband connection where you can use a provider not supported by RMS.

Only "gotcha" with a modem is that most modems are too smart to work with the dial up connections of some providers. Getting the right modem initialization string to dummy down your modem can be quite a task.

However, you can't do deibtcard with either PCCharge or ICVerify.

I suggest either
