Export sales data to QB

I'm new to quickbooks and I'm having a difficult time reconciling my bank statement.

  1. Does anyone have any pointers on the best way to do this?

  1. Should I export my bank statements and also export the sales data from RMS?

  2. Is there a report within rms mgr that will give me my daily sales totals (as the x and z report do)?

Thanks

There is a crystal report (Utilities/Crystal Reports) called Register Analysis report that may help. Obviously the Detailed or Summary Sales Reports. Also, I believe there is a report that reproduces the Z-Report available from

- you have to register on the site.

All I know about quickbooks is how to connect it to RMS - you might want to see an accountant about reconciling. I know that reconcilliation is a big problem, because the numbers that RMS reports, primarilly for credit cards is rarely what gets deposited. The card processor will withhold their fees and RMS does not take that into account when posting, so you always end up making adjustments. Also, RMS doesn't really take the concept of a deposit amount into account. It will tell you how much you sold, and how much was (supposed to be) in the drawer at the end of the day, but that is probably not the amount you are depositing...

I have clients setup sub-accounts of their "bank"/cash g/l account in QB for each payment type that will be deposited. Then link each sub account to its corresponding "tender received" in MRMS. Once imported into QB the reconciliation screen for the "Bank" will include all of the sub-accounts and you will be able to differentiate between the tender types as they will be tagged with the description used for the sub-account.

You could also link to Tender Closed. Right now I can't remember why we chose tender received.

As Glenn indicated MRMS does a poor job of differentiating between what should have been "received" throughout the day and what actually was "deposited".
