Print X and Y reports to my laser printer instead of the thermal o

One paper saver is to NOT PRINT a X report. Instruct the cashier to turn off the printer (Ctrl-F9), then do an X. Use the journal viewer to verify totals, then print Z report.

One problem - when they forget to turn the printer back on before running the Z, and they will forget, you have to go into Manager to view the journal and find the Z.

You can create a macro to disable printer, print x, and enable printer. Works great.

You can also modify the Z report to just give you the info you need. You should be able to search for this on the forum. It has been talked about many times before. Alternatively, don't print it on paper at all. Who needs paper these days?

Well guy's, I also keep all of the X&Z reports in a cabinet in the back sorted by month.

Everyday that the X&Z reports get printed I punch them and leave them organized in a folder. Receipt paper is not the greatest thing to keep around for, since it gets wrinkled, loses its text(turns white), and just not too good looking.

A nice looking X&Z report on a normal 8.5x11 sheet would be sooo much nicer and cleaner to store away, as well as go back and look to later if I need to.

After you close your registers by running a Z report, go to Manager, Utilities, Crystal Reports, Register Analysis. Click Generate. That is your end of day report. If you want to see figures for each register batch enable Show Individual Batches on the Details tab before you click Generate. If you want to run the report for another date choose Date Closed on the Criteria tab. X/Z reports are not for keeping IMO. Toss the X for sure. Keep the Z for your bank deposit, then toss the Z. Actually we shred them.
