Floor Limit

It is my understanding that is a cashier is given a floor limit (say $400). If their drawer exceeded the limit they would not be allowed to process further transactions. I have tested this repeatedly and floor limit doesn't seem to do anything. Any help? I do not want the cashierS to have more than $400 in their drawers at a time and do not want to have to keep checking to see if they have exceeded that limit.

Nate, the floor limit limits the maximum sale a cashier can make. Same thing for the return limit, it limits the maximum return a cashier can process. The limit is by transaction, not cumulative - here is the detailed explanation from the help guide

Floor limit: The largest non-cash sale amount the cashier is allowed to complete.

Return limit: The largest return transacti> It is my understanding that is a cashier is given a floor limit (say $400).

For what you are asking Retail Realm has a feature within its store utility that controls what is the starting money in the drawer, how much is taken. When it reaches a number it starts by warning the cashier to drop the money. There is also an amount after which the POS will not accept any more tendering until a cash frop has been done. The software tells the cashier how much should be deposited so as to leave the starting float money.

If you wish to have a look at this add-on let me know
