get the item scanned or manually entered at POS

I am customizing Dynamics RMS Store Operation pos. My problem is i want to get the value scanned or entered manually before RMS deletes it if the item is not found. Actually i just want to call a beep once the item entered was not found on the item table. Thank you very much
