Handheld Scanner in Visual Basic

I'm really hoping someone answers this today.

I'm writing some software in VB.NET 2.0 that uses a Barcode scanner (made by Handheld) to read in data. I've installed WEPOS and the Microsoft.PointOfService DLL on the machine. When I call Microsoft.PointOfService.PosExplorer.GetDevices(), or any overloaded function of it, it returns no devices. I have rewritten the code into another project, and GetDevices() returns all of my scanners. Furthermore, the Windows Event Log leaves me an error whenever this method runs: "Attempt to access the method failed." I'm not sure what this means.

Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

This group generally discusses Microsoft's point of sale packages, Retail Management System and MS Point of Sale.

That is a really strange situation where copying the code to a different project makes it work. I'd check my project properties and my references. It sounds like the hardware and crivers are correctly configured. You might want to just try posting this to a VB group - it doesn't sound like the issue is really tied to Point of Service since it works in a different project...
