In-Counter Barcode Scanner

Hi Everyone, Has anyone had any experience installing in-counter barcode scanners? I do NOT need a scale in mine and am just looking for a good low-profile scanning solution. Our operation is somewhere in between pure retail and grocery style of lane configuration and we're trying to focus on making our cash-wraps more presentable to the customer and reducing work for our cashiers.

I'm most interested in having the scanner mounted in a vertical surface but would also consider the grocery-style scanners that scan from below in addition to horizontally.

Any specific models to look at? I can also just mount a Quantum-T behind a cover plate but I was hoping for a larger scan area than the Metrologic provides in that model.

TIA,

Brandon

Have you looked at the HoneyWell (Metrologic) MS7820 Solaris or MS7600 Horizon? Both are good scanners.
