How to show Customer Name on MY Credit Card Receipt?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to print Customer Name on the Store's copy of the Credit Card transaction receipt.

Basically 2 receipts are printed - one for customer and one that customer signs and gives back to us. The one that customer keeps always has the customer's name on it. However, our own copy has an unclear signature but not the customer's name and this makes it difficult to audit and match customers to their receipts at the end of the day (we do this to keep track of things which is helpful to us).

How can we amend the receipt to print customer name on our receipt and not just on the one that customer keeps (we need to have their name more than the customer does on their own receipt :)

Thanks!

Zorian,

To modify receipts you have to modify the XML files that make up the receipt templates. I would suggest making a copy of the original file before editing.

Good luck, Matt

It's funny because one of the receipts actually DOES print Customer's Name. Wouldn't it be simple to print it on both receipts?

Is it possible to suggest to Microsoft to implement this functionality? I am sure there are many others who would benefit from this...and this info is stored in Customer Info anyway plus it is already printed on one of the receipts anyway... ?

MRS does not capture the customer name track for use on the receipt. :-(

The name on the receipt doesn't come from the credit card, it's the result of choosing a customer in RMS for a transaction. You might be able to add this name to the signature slip in the receipt xml file as Matt said.

Matt and Rick, can you tell me how I can learn about modifying the XML file? And which XML file would that be?

Thanks for your help!

That's what I meant, as Rick said. If you have a customer selected for a transaction (not off of the card), then you can use that selected customer's name on the receipt.
