RMS should store customer name from credit card

We have recently switched from using ICVerify to native credit card processing with RMS. RMS worked very smoothly in handling the cc swipe, passing the data to ICVerify, and getting response. One item on the ICVerify settlement report was the card holder name. We have used this on several occassions to contact the card holder such as they left their card. RMS does not seem to store this data even though the fields exist in the database for this.

I totally agree with you on this. I just posted following message on PartnerSource.

I'm refering to POS 2.0.

It is important to print card holder's name on the receipt (automatically) for several reasons:

  1. Not all customer are same. Some may be in hurry, others may not want to provide their details (for XYZ reason) to be manually inputed in the POS.
  2. In that case, one can imagine how difficult it would be to track a particular transaction if there is charge back after few months.
  3. It would be easier to verify card holder's ID if the name is printed on receipt.
  4. some times payment is made by other person accompained with customer.
  5. Many times customer would like to inquire, get refund or exchange product refering to previous transcation. What if computer is down, how would we verify amount they are refering to without their name printed on receipt?
  6. Why allmost all stand alone credit card terminal that I have known in this world would automatically print card holders name on the receipt. There must be a reason.

I'll appreciate, if anyone can help me with instructions to modify xml file of receipt or send me thier modified file.

Thanks
