Import from mobile scanner

Hello,

Its possible to import data from a mobile scanner in a Physical Inventory count.

But is it also possible to do that in an Transfer inventory in or Purchase order, without a outgoing transfer or purchase order? One of my clients asked for this, because he receives many products without an order. And don't wan't to fill it in per hand.

Hope somebody can help me.

YES you can - We have an add-on that allows this as well as selling and creating work order. This can use the NordicID Specific device (PL600 series) or any PocketPC or CE.NET device. Contact me for more details.

You talk about big bucks. I am not sure that it is true. You can buy from Dell their PocketPC under $200 and the Shuttle Scanner also under $200. So for less than $400 you have a superior product that talks direct to the database via standard 802.11 wireless network. The big advantage with online system is immediate validation etc...

Use the 'Copy as Table' feature to copy your Physical Inventory count sheet to Excel. Delete any extraneous rows except for maybe a title row at the top.

Use the scanner to scan ILCs. You'll end up with a big list of ILCs.

Use the Filter function to get a list of unique ILCs. Use the COUNT function to count instances of each ILC. Use the VLOOKUP function to match the counts to the Physical Inventory Count Sheet.

The RMS Physical Inventory feature will import the Excel file after you save it in .csv format.

Good luck.
