We used to use Quicksell 2000 and a Unitech hand-held scanner in order to input new inventory into the system. The unitech scanner would upload a comma-delimited text file, and then we'd import this text file into QS2000.
I can't find a way to do this in RMS-Store Operations.. From what I can see, the only time I can import the unitech's text file is when doing a "Physical Inventory". Unfortunately.. the Physical Inventory form doesn't allow you to ADD counts to current "on-hand" amounts. (Ex., if you have 6 chocolate bars in your inventory.. and you receive an order for 2 more chocolate bars, scan them into the unitech, and then run Physiical Inventory Form.. and import the unitech's text file.. the new "on hand" amount will be 2 not 8.)
Is there any way to do this in RMS?? Why not if I could in QS2000?
Craiga,
Yeah, I think a 150 worksheet does the same thing. I'll play over the weekend.
I'd rather not pay out another $500 for New West Mobile Inventory Count module.. (although it might be great, I can't say...)
Worksheet 150 looks like it should work -- I haven't tried it yet but it brings up current quantities, and has the import file feature there. Not sure how I missed that before.
Thanks!
I tested it, and no Worksheet 150 doesn't let you add to your item quantities. Like the Physical Inventory form, uploading from the handheld just replaces the quantity.
