Item Dynamic table size

Hello,e I've been doing some cleaning in our HQ db on items that are no longer sold in our locations. I've had success in deleting the appropriate items however I noticed that our item dynamic table is quite large, over 2,000,000 rows. Is there an sql script available to update the Item Dynamic table based on the Items in the Item table? Thanks in adavance Joe

Jeff, Thanks for the response. I am aware of making items inactive however maybe I'm going down the wrong path. About 6 months ago we set about 3/4 of our items to inactive due to the fact that we do not receive the same items over and over again.

We are having some serious performance issues with our server. I ran the script and came up with 100,000 results. I'm assuming that this is not good. The server has come to a crawl and inputing new items to the database has become too slow. It sometimes takes an hour to create around 50 matrix items. I assumed our Retail Realm Item creation software was having issues with the amount of items in the database. Inactive or not. Not only that but stores have issues with worksheets not uploading the journals, po, and transfers as regularly as they had before.

So what does this mean for our database?
