Label Printing Issue

Hi guys,

The Zebra LP2844 I'm dealing with prints the first label with the correct orientation (Landscape) but the rest of the labels in the same batch come out as Portrait.

I have setup the printer with the latest driver available from Zebra. I have specified the Landscape orientation in both the printer preferences and the Advanced tab, under the printer properties. The label template has been used before and it worked just fine.

The Zebra tech guy printed a few labels from Word with the correct orientation, as proof that it's an RMS related issue.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue are greatly appreciated.

Tom,

Just to double check, the label format is in Landscape too, right?

Manager | Utilities | Label Designer | select the label | Orientation in the Label Properties is set to Landscape

Jeff,

The label orientation on the label file is indeed Landscape.

This is driving me crazy.

Not a permanent fix, but I had a similar problem. My fix was to hit print to bring up the preview page, but then close the preview and hit print again. It turned out that the subsequent printouts were correct, it was just the first attempt that was screwed up.

My problem wasn't identical to yours, but I h> Jeff,

Update...

Okay people, I've got it resolved.

We basically changed the orientation to Portrait on:

- Printer Properties | Gereral | Printer Preferences

- Printer Properties | Advanced | Printing Defaults

- The label template

And now it's printing correctly!

But I'm still not satisfied since the template used to be Landscape and it was working right.

Also, if the orientation is set to landscape in all 3 places (which it was), shouldn't all the labels in a batch come out as landscape?

There doesn't seem to be much consistency in how it's behaving!

Thanks for the input guys. I'd be interested in your theories as to why this issue occured.
