MS9520 Voyager Scanner

Hello,

I have 2 of the above scanners. The one on my backoffice works 100%. The one on my POS station loses power, and will not trigger on -- you have to unplug/plug the usb and then it works for a while. I have tried USB root hub power control (always on), pc power control (always on), a new usb card, and have talked with Metrologic. Their last suggestion was changing the BIOS on startup. I have not done that. What could possibly be different from one computer to the next. The both are dells, running windows xp...Any suggestions?

Thanks, Greg Shepherd FRGUSA

Have you tried swapping scanners between machines? Does your problem follow the scanner or stay with the register?

Hi Glenn,

Yes, I have. The problem stays with the pc. Thanks, Greg

It's probably some issue with other USB devices on the register. Metrologic USB scanners are normally plug & play - we use them all the time and I've never seen them behave this way.

You might try getting an external USB hub with it's own power source. No idea if that will actually help, but it's something to try.
