Need to show multiple commissions

Aug 29, 2007 3 Replies

Our sales people are paid a percentage of profit for their commission.

Our service technitians are paid a $25 commission if they send in a customer who buys a large piece of equipment.

Sometimes, both of our sales people work equally on a sale, so they should split the commission for the sale. So, I set up a extra sales rep named "split." When we figure commissions, we'll divide the commission for "split" in half and add it to each sales person's total.

What I can't figure out how to set it up so that if a service tech sends in a customer, they will get their $25 and the sales person will get his percentage of profit.

Any ideas?

"large pieces of equipment" are Ice Machines, Refrigerators, Freezers, Merchandisers, and so on.

I think that we have come up with a solution. Since you can assign a different sales rep to each item in a sale, I created an "inventory" item with a cost and price of $0 called "Refered by CMI." I then created a sales rep for each of the service techs (CMI Rich, CMI John, CMI Mike....) with a flat rate commission of $25.

When we ring up an Ice Machine, we will assign the sales person who gets the % of profit as the sales rep for the machine, then we will add on the "Refered by CMI" inventory item and put the service tech's name as the sales rep for that item.

I hope this will work
