Parent / Child cost updates

RMS should update the "Child" item when RMS goes to the parent item and deducts the qty from the parent and adds it to the child. What good is the wrong cost in the item field when calculating GM%. This is a problem that Microsoft needs to address with the programmers, NOT something that I need to go buy an add-on to fix. If you agree with this, then e-mail Microsoft and ask for the change.

Thanks,

Jay

I have been saying this for a long time (since QS2K). I have to manually adjust my child item costs every time I receive new inventory. I have been working around this by doing some fancy manuevering to get a list of all child and parent costs and quantities for items that are children using a SQL query in Excel. The I do some division and Excel helps me see what child costs are not correct. Then I go an update them manually.

Needless to say, this is not fun.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. How did the developers think users would determine inventory value accurately if they have child items? I guess this goes back the the Quicksell days, but Microsoft should have put at least some effort into looking at the complaints of QS2K users befoe releasing RMS.

I have a fix for the parent child issue on RMS 1.2 and higher that runs as a service and adjusts teh costs of Parent child and also updates KITS that have a child item to update their costs. This is a FREE fix. If you need more info contact me.
