Ok - I have an item at 19.99 and an item at 5.99, i want to give the 5.99 item free with the 19.99 Item. Is there a way i can do this to ensure it doesnt matter which order the items are scanned in? and that the custoemr will only pay 19.99 at normal price level, and 10% less at Price level A

in the standard Microsoft RMS program this is NOT possible at this stage. You can use the Retail Realm Promotio module to achieve this. Contact me for more detail.
Tag along items works if every time you sold that item you wanted the second item sold. Tha is not what is being said here. More importantly what is being asked is that when the 2nd item is posted first and then the 1st item you want the price of second item to be reduced automatically not as part of a tag along.
Tag along will not work here, as Afshin says for this type of promotion we may not automatically always want to include the second item, it may not always be free..
Did a bit of testing though, I have been able to achieve this by the following promotion...
Create a Miz and Match Promo where Qty 1 = 19.99 Where Qty 2 = 14.00
Then when the 19.99 item is scanned alone it is still 19.99 and the 5.99 alone is still 5.99, but when both are scanned together the 19.99 item is reduced to 14.00 + 5.99 (19.99) so the effect is 5.99 item as free
I realise this isnt quite water tight in terms of what happes to margins at item level etc - but its good enough for me!
