Discounting in RMS

We are trying to set up a promotion - an item at 19.99, one at 4.99 and another at 4.99, we want one of the 4.99 items to be free, however we dont want to have to scan the item which is to be free last in the transaction. (normally on a buy X get Y for Z promo, the free item is the last one scanned, not the cheapest!) I am sure we have overcome this in the past by using the mix and match discount, and deviding the cost of each item so that it is the equivilent of getting 4.99 off the total. For example, add all three items to a discount scheme which makes them

8.32 each, and when they are added together the cusomer is charged 24.96 (which is as close as i can get!). I am sure that this has worked in the past, but it seems that it will not let me increase the price of an item in a promotion (i.e i want to make each item worth 8.32, when the normal sell price is only 4.99).

Does anybody have any work arounds for this, or suggestions?!

Help much appreciated :o)

You can configure those items as a Kit Item into Store Operations database with a specific price as you want, The Kit item is a bundle kit of multiple items with a specific alias and it get inventory from the original item by specifying the count of item to be build.

Thanks for that, useful! It would be great if when the contentents of a Kit are scanned, the till suggested that these items can be purchases as a kit for the price of X etc.... as doing it this way means we need an extra barcode to scan kept at the tills...

Thanks Mahmoud :)

"Mahmoud Am> Yes, you can as a standard item.
