Quickbooks/RMS 1.3

When I post my Store Ops 1.3 file to a Quickbooks file (.iif) then import into quickbooks (QB Pro 2004), the .iif file creates new QB accounts (but with an incorrect account type). The new account number is the same as the old one, but the account type is different. My GL Table is set up correctly, and my QB is set to use account numbers. I'm very puzzled. How can I fix this?

In the RMS setup just enter the QB account name exactly as it's entered in QB without the account number. If you use sub accounts you need to show both the primary and sub separated by a colon. eg

Sales

or

Sales:Department

Quickbooks does not rely on account numbers in the same manner as most accounting programs. It (QB) relys on the account name and can optionally be setup to use an account number to satisfy us accountants. It's easier to reference a number than a name that may be similar to other accounts in the COA. eg Insurance Expense/Insurance Prepaid

Since the account numbers are in the RMS export setup, the first time you import the file into QB it creates a new account probably a bank account for each line of the import file.
