Re: RMS on Netbook

I wanted to post some feedback in case anyone was interested. I finally installed RMS (client software only) on an Asus netbook, N270 processor,

1.6GHz with 1G RAM. This was my personal hardware and I used it as a test guinea pig before spending money on one for the store.

I used it for a short test run this morning. I plugged in a USB scanner and walked around the store. It performed surprisingly well for inventory lookups and browsing PO's, with very little lag, as long as lookups are confined to a few search fields.

On a sidenote - I was unable to install RMS on a PC running Win 7 64 bit. Even in compatibility mode I was getting an error due to a registry key that could not be written to (it is not there).

I will post back if any issues occur with the netbook as I proceed. Any suggestions for an inexpensive (if there is one) label printer? I would need one that can be used to print 1 label at a time on demand - for walking around and pricing shelves with the Netbook.
