Refunds

Jul 27, 2006 2 Replies

We just installed RMS so please pardon if this has been covered.

When trying to issue a refund (using the Ctrl F4), each time we have tried to change the quantity from -1 to -xx RMS creates either a new negative entry or a new positive entry and then leaves the original -1 entry. This has the potential for getting past the cashier and causing erroneous refunds. What are we doing wrong? We frequently have customers come in and exchange items of the same value but we would like to keep the inventory correct.

Thanks for any help.

Rhonda,

Here's two shortcuts that may help:

  1. You can enter the quantity first using the * key. Enter 'quantity' then '*' then scan or key the item. This works the same way in RETURN mode.

  1. If it is an even exchange, scan the item, then press the - (minus) key on the numeric keypad and it will enter a return for the same item on the next line.

Hope that helps,

Marc

I enter the quantity first then backspace and enter the "-" sign.
