Report to show Purchases by Category

Does a report exist that will show purchases, transfer ins, and transfer outs by category? I ask because I sell fish, and account for dead fish using a transfer out. Sales reports show a specific margin, but that margin is incorrect because it doesn't account for dead fish that were transferred out.

Basically, I need a report that will show the cost of purchases within a certain date range in all categories, transfer ins within a date range for all categories, and transfer outs within a date range for all categories.

Please let me know if this exists.

Hi Ryan,

Professional Advantage has a product called REtail Analytics that will enable you to create the report you are looking for. We also offer the UCAP (Up Close and Personal) program. We have streamlined a process to get your RMS data in house (we sign all NDA's, confidentilaity agreements, etc), load our product and then demonstrate the full power of the product on your data at no cost.

If this is something that you would be interested in or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

There isn't a report that I can think of for this.

But something you need to understand, your sales margins _are_ correct.

What you are describing is a shrinkage account. This is an accounting issue, not a sales or RMS issue. Its part of your P&L as a cost of doing business. IANAA, but I would talk to one to get this right.
