RMS Secure data transfer

Is the data secure when being transferred to from the RMS clients to the RMS server (running on SQL Server)? Here is the background on my question?Today I run RMS in a single-store environment where the RMS server (SQL Server) is running on one of the terminals. I know this is a bad configuration from a disaster recovery perspective. I want to eliminate that single point of failure, and I also have a desire to grow my business into a multi store scenario. Due to all of this, I?m considering whether I should create my own little data center with a redundant Windows Server running the RMS Server that all of my terminals from all of my stores could connect to, or should I up my RMS server in a hosted environment. And my main concern is whether RMS is a secure application so that if I put RMS server outside of my company?s firewall (aka a linksys router! HA!), is it possible for corporate information (customer/supplier/sales info) or personal information (credit card #s) to be intercepted?

Thanks,

JN
