I just went through the PDF userguide on RMS 1.2, Under reference it refers to a tab called "Rmsnet "under Configuration. In my version which is



1.2.0151, there is no tab for that. A previous administrator set up RMSnet, and we actively use it but I can find no where where I can configure or modify it, and we are getting error messages "unable to connect because no server is defined" when we try to re purpose a an exisiting POS to process download and process orders.

Try editing the registry:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\Agent\Network

try enabling it in Manager / File/ Configuration / options tab / general options / [x] enable rms network service

then go from there.

to add to evans instructions. username and passwords are stored as encrypted so you may just want to copy the entire key to the new machine.
