Rollback Quantities on post void

I am hoping someone on the group can give me a hand. When we post void an item through Microsoft RMS 1.3, we expect that the inventory would rollback to the previous state.

For example, you have a 100 widgets. A customer buys a widget, quantity is now 99. They come back in later and return the item (either recall as return or void). We would expect that the quantity goes back up to 100. Instead the items stays at 99 and the quantity shows an offline amount of 1.

Could someone either explain the offline relationship here or explain how to get this functionality to rollback the quantity to its previous state?

Thanks
