Sales Rep problems

Mar 08, 2007 3 Replies

I have setup security where a sales rep is req'd on each invoice. One of my reps starts an invoice using his rep code and saves the file (puts it on hold). He then recalls the file and adds to it but his rep code does not add onto the new items added to the invoice (even though he designated the proper rep code upon opening the invoice).

Currently using v1.3. The reps creating the transactions have a security setting so they cannot change the rep field. With this setting, the rep cannot even change the line item rep id. Now in the past the rep would create the transaction, put it on hold, pull the customer up as well as the hold file and then try to add more items to the transaction. They would indicate their rep id, find the customer and pull the file up. AFter trying to add new items, no rep id would show in the rep column. The screen needs to be secured, then a manager needs to sign in and add the rep id. Is there something I am missing on the security settings? Thanks, Robert

Todd, Thanks for the reply. I have gone through your suggestions and went in and worked on some examples. Here is what I found. Everything works OK when I create transacatons and place them on hold. The problem comes in when I am recalling a quote or workorder. In these scenarios I can add items to the quote I recalled but there is not a sales rep assigned to those new items - even though the proper sales rep signed in and selected his sales rep id. A manager has to lock the screen and login and then add the rep id manually. I don't know if there is a problem with the quote and workorder template but this is getting quite tiresome to correct. Your help is appreciated. Robert.
