Scanning issues

We receive items on purchase orders by scanning our vendors UPCs. When we do this, we have one person do the UPC scanning and another person watching the computer screen to make sure each item goes in okay. Not the most efficient system. Is there anything we can do to have the computer give some sort of audible warning if the UPC isn't recognized or the item wasn't on the purchase order?

The following was designed based on input from retailers like you. With

2B-Inventory for RMS/POS (handheld add-on), you can receive items with the following functionality:

  1. If the item code exists, it will receive with no promt and associates it to an existing PO

  1. If the item code does not exist, you can add it as an alias to an existing item and it will associate it to an existing PO. This can all be done from the receiving screen.
  2. During the PO reconciliation step on the handheld, you see a list of items that you received and the associated PO. If the item exists on multiple POs, you are prompted to choose which PO you would like to receive the item against. You also have the option of receiving new items and associating that item with an existing PO.

If you create a PO when you place the order, you can receive products in a few clicks. If you don't place PO's this way, check out this power tool for RMS.

a packing list and this tool, you could quickly tag the items you wantto receive, enter quantities, then create and receive the PO. That has to bea lot faster than pulling items out of a box and scanning them in one byone.

Contact your RMS reseller for more information.
