Sql error: Error # 2147217871 Time out expired.

I'm going to continue searching the web on this, but figured I'd ask if anybody has come across this error in RMS?

"it Says Error # 2147217871 Time out expired. (Source: Microsoft OLE provider for SQL server Error in Post Transaction Entries) That comes up after about five minutes of nothing. Then hit OK and Run-time Error pops up. Then hit OK and Every thing shuts down and have to restart. At this point the sale does not seem to be recorded in all areas. "

Thanks for any assistance in advance, again, I'll continue searching....

Wendy_I,

If you are using MSDE as your database instead of the full blown version of SQL Server, try this;

Thanks for the quick response! I went ahead and ran the query on my client's machine and I guess only time will tell now if it works or not. He said it had been happening about two or three times a week, no rhyme or reason that he could tell.

Thanks for the help, Jeff, as usual!

Wendy_I,

If you're a RMS reseller, why are you posting here on the public site? Look here for using the other 2 Partner sites.

Wendy_I,

Ahh, OK, you said "my client's machine" so I assumed you were a reseller. ;-)

We have a customer with a similar problem. We upgraded their main office computer from Windows XP Pro to SBS 2003, because they are heavy volume operation and they were running out of the MSDE database space. They are getting this problem on credit card transactions. There is a PcCharge Server v. 5.7.0 running on the SBS 2003 server. A transaction does through Tender screen, Credit Card Verification screen and the Electronics Draft Status screen. The problem is, every single time, if workstation did not take a credit card transaction for more then ten minutes then the Credit Card Verification screen will become white/gray and the Electronics Draft Status screen will not show up at least 30 seconds and could be up to or more then a minute. Some times workstation could time out and close POS program on its own with error message "Store operation business rules error #2147217871 timeout expired". But consecutive credit card transaction(s) will run just fine without any problems until this time of ten minutes of inactivity of credit card transactions. Appears that other tender transaction have no effect. This problem happens on both workstations the same way. I think that there something in SBS 2003 is different from Windows XP. I am hopping that there is the expert in SBS 2003 and SQL server who can help us solve this problem.

Yuri,

If you are running with the Offline option (MSDE installed locally), then you need to apply the SQL statement to it also

I don't do PCCharge, so I don't know what its doing.
