SQL Server 2005 Express and RMS - will it work?

Would RMS Store Ops work with SQL Server 2005 Express? We are looking for a low-impact version of SQL for use in our individual stores (do not want to setup a separate SQL Server machine), and currently are using MSDE for our Store Ops database during our corporate-office training and development.

However, we are looking down the road, and if we can use this cutting-edge technology now instead of using MSDE and having to migrate to SQL Express later, so much the better. When the full version of SQL Server 2005 comes out, we are planning on migrating most of our corporate operations to it (including Headquarters, once Microsoft certifies RMS HQ for SQL 2k5), and it would be good to know that our Store Ops databases will come along for the ride.

Bill,

If you are looking for a tested solution that is affordable, look into Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 Premium. SBS includes SQL Server and is a cost effective solution that provides you with the full SQL Server product. SBS 2003 Premium retails for $1499.00 and includes Windows Server

2003, Exchange Server 2003, ISA Server 2000, and SQL Server 2000.
