I think my system is slowing down now. I use to be able to re-call a transactions in a few seconds, for return...now it taikes anywhere from 30 sec. to 2 min. I am re-calling for no more than 3 days at a time...usually not even that many. Any suggestions?

How many transactions have your database?

First thing make a backup of your Database. (VERY IMPORTANT) Next log into Store Ops Admin and from the Database menu do a Check, then a Reindex.

I run between 300 to 500 transactions per day...what will re-indexing do? If I make a back-up, is that where you go into utilities and then back-up...I do that everyday...will I be able to pull everything back up if for whatever reason something goes wrong?
I'd reboot (of course) and run defrag if you're running MSDE locally....
may help a little.
