Looks like the economy is hitting Lagarde and they have filed bankruptcy.

C'mon Alex - you've never really considered them a competitor have you? We both know it's been down to us for a long time now.

Todd,

Do you offer a server installable version yet or must it still be hosted thru Nitrosell?

thx

Funny! There are also a few imitators out there that are offering an inferior solution for the RMS shopping cart integration and are a BIG joke. Don't get fooled by them at all! I agree there are only TWO quality solutions. Kosmos is very unique you own your code and the website/cart and can customize any aspect of how the cart works along with integrating 3rd party modules. Nitrosell's solution is also unique, you don't own the cart code and thus it's not OPEN SOURCE like Kosmos's cart, and has been marketed as a SERVICE. Both do the same job in the end with integrating RMS items and inventory along with downloading orders into RMS. The differences are posted all over this discussion group. Since there has been so many advances in technology over the years, maybe a new side by side comparison should be posted?

Jeff

Now, now, gentlemen... this discussion board is supposed to help RMS/ POS users. Let's not all pretend that there are only 2 viable solutions when there are numerous others that are successful and, "since there have been so many advances in technology over the years" perhaps this is an opportune moment to give curious RMS users links to review them and find which suits their specific business needs? After all, every business is different...

designed/design it yourself customized/customize it yourself hosted/host it yourself supported/support it yourself managed/manage it yourself

I'm sure that we all know that it's up to the suppliers of software to make their case to each RMS user individually, based on listening to their needs. Product comparison tables are a start, as are price, installation and support comparisons. But then we move on to testimonials, case studies, how many rings it took to answer the phone and how friendly the sales team were on a particular day, and before we know it, we've filled up a discussion group with information that can be sourced from other web sites and gained by SPEAKING to real users.

I've come across the following companies and know that they ALL have satisfied customers who have used their products/services for a considerable period of time.

Anyone got any others to add to the list?

“I'm very weary when you see deceptive tactics like this online.“

Anyone reading Jeff and JT’s comments carefully would conclude they are the same person posting under different names. If that’s true THAT would be “deceptive tactics”.

Anyway, we are a RMS reseller based out of the US. We have been reselling Nitro for a while and have been fairly satisfied. Our biggest problem has been the cost, the inability to customize and host ourselves. We haven’t tried Kosmos because we wanted to use a Microsoft technology based shopping cart.

Very recently we were forced to work with Lan services as one of our customers insisted on using their solution. As it turns out, their shopping cart is a lot more affordable and provides just as many bells and whistles, if not more. The fact that it is based on Microsoft .Net framework, it makes it so much easier to integrate with RMS. we have already launched two websites based on their solution and the third and fourth are being processed. The fourth one is being hosted by our customer himself. So it does make it easier to sell.

As a RMS reseller, we’ll continue to offer both choices to our customers and let them decide.

Jeff/JT – if you guys are really resellers, concentrate on the product, features and providing the best service to our customers – the retailers, instead of trash talking. Retailers are smarter than that. You will only hurt your own cause.

Lan Services (Anil?) – you may want to think about responding here yourself.

Hi All, I’d like to announce that Kosmos Dispatcher for RMS eCommerce is NOW HERE! The Dispatcher is more than 50% cheaper than our Standard RMS eCommerce product.

1) You still own your shopping cart, its open source technology and you're not leasing it. 2) This integration uses a standardized format called SOAP, which is platform independent. “Because the message format is standardized and based on the XML standard, SOAP can be used to communicate among multiple computer architectures, languages, and operating systems. SOAP enables a new class of applications called Web services, which expose services in a standard way so that application developers can create new applications by putting together services from many different sources on the Web.”

See:

The comment above stating that DOT NET makes it much easier to integrate with RMS is absolutely irrelevant. The Web Integrator 2.4 that sites on RMS communicates with Dispatcher via SOAP and was also developed in Dot Net.

3) It’s a monthly service where you will have continued support for the eCommerce integration even after site launch and if hosting elsewhere. Past clients that have purchased the entire package thought they would not need any additional support after site launch and that’s just not the case. There are always integration questions to be addressed and additional training needs. This package will include that for the life of the monthly service. 4) You can customize your cart design, add 3rd party inexpensive modules and customize the code yourself. Or have Kosmos quote you out on any customization. 5) Works with Head Quarters.

6) Allows for multiple sites integrations from one RMS Database.

7) Online customer panel Access to customize your data mappings to the web and create rule sets.

8) FREE Kosmos Web Service and Dispatcher Updates.

Our clients are very happy with our support, website management tools and editors along with our expertise in providing unique customizations. Resellers rarely have to get involved with the Kosmos RMS eCommerce integration at all. Kosmos Central is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, ISV/Software Solutions provider. So, that said. If Microsoft tested and approved our products then it should always be an option offered to your clients, too. I've always been upfront with our new clients and have informed them on multiple occasions to consider Nitrosell as an option and to fully research their needs. I want our existing and new customers to know there are options and that they have a CHOICE. Those customers that choose Kosmos are very HAPPY customers, because they (not their reseller) made the final decision. Both of our products provide the same end result and are quite different at the same time. So that said, each client should receive full disclosure on all offerings out there and the differences.

We're sending out a newsletter and if you haven't inquired about our services before please contact us for the newsletter or pricing:

Thanks for the call ¡§Gloria¡¨ the other day. I appreciate the opportunity you guys have provided us to serve your customers.

Thank you and all other resellers/customers who have made 2008 the best year yet.

Looking ahead, we are making a lot of improvements and launching several new products. Within the next 30-45 days, we¡¦ll be making several announcements including:

  1. Hiring of VP of Sales and Marketing
  2. Yahoo! RMS integrator
  3. Xcart integrator
  4. eBay integrator
  5. The Item List Editor (TILE)
  6. Elypsis (Wine Clubs) integrator
  7. Private Label solution for resellers
  8. 30-day free trial
  9. Third-party shopping cart integration with RMS

We have already launched our .NET version of the shopping cart along with RMSlink. With the introduction of .Net based RMScart we have started offering Fully Managed and Self Managed solutions. Now you have the choice to host/maintain the shopping cart yourself or we can do it for you. with self managed solution, you can further customize the shopping cart.

We take pride in developing 100% of the solution in house. (I guess we can¡¦t point fingers at others if something goes wrong.) Since we own 100% of the code, we are able to modify/customize the solutions to any extent logically possible.

We are now offering a 30-day free trial of our solution. By the way, you won¡¦t need a team of 5 IT people to use it. ƒº

Let us all hope the current economic downturn doesn¡¦t put anyone else out of business and hope for a better 2009.

For any information, please contact me.

WOW I go on vacation and look! Did you know The Chicago Skyway Bridge is for sale too. Any takers? I would follow up on what Anil has posted and don't be fooled. For one just give Elypsis a call and ask about LAN Solutions integration with their software.

1) Elypsis has NEVER heard of LAN SERVICES, I've worked with their development team and the Elypsis software. I was very surprised to see this posting.

So, in retrospect, what does this mean? You make the call. Elypsis is aware of the situation and their Lawyers will be giving Anil a call soon. It pretty much sounds to me like ANIL is trying his best to get his off shore Indians working on cloning everyone's product without focusing on the big picture. QUALITY of the entire solution and support. Item list editor sounds like Nitrosells Editor too.

Anil you may want to clarify your intentions and also WHO is SIM Retail and why does their portfolio look exactly like yours? Why the two companies?

Jeff

A small correction on my posting. I meant to state that Elypsis is aware of the situation and everyone else who has copyrited software should be aware too. Good luck. Sounds like a losing battle though, since the software developers are in another country. Not everyone has Microsoft dollars that's for sure.

Jeff

I am sorry Jeff. Looks like I touched a nerve there. Personal attacks only make you appear feeble, afraid and threatened. I am sure that’s not what you are trying to show – right?

SIM retail is one of our very first resellers. We have provided them – as to others as well – a full support. We built the website for them. They are doing their own marketing. They get the leads and we close them.

You should try RMScart – a 100% home grown using 100% Microsoft technologies product – and I am quite confident you and your customers will be very happy. Moreover, your customers can host our solution either on our server or on their own server. How cool is that!

If anyone wants to see a demo of our product, please let me know. We do offer a free 30-day trial to customers. References of very happy customers are also available upon request.

Hi Alex & Anill We still waiting for your ebay integration announcement. Thanks
