I have RMS installed on a SQL server and I have a database created and a couple of stores connected to it. I am trying to install HQ on another machine on the LAN so I can do maintainence and what have you from this other computer. I've installed HQ and in HQ admin I can connect and test he database that I want to use but i get error messages when I try to go into HQ Manger, Error #-2147217865 invalid object name "HQVersionHistory" etc. Do I need to create the database again? I would like to have multiple machines on the LAN taht can run HQ administrator and manager. What is the proper procedure for this?

Hi Tony, Where can I find more instructions for this? Here I sit at a remote desktop over a VPN into our network which has one Server and two POS Terminals. The dongle is at the main POS. At the moment, I get a message about the copy protection device not present when I invoke SOM at the server. Isn't the dongle at the POS supposed to be sufficient for the server to also gain access? Do we need to know what our license count is, thinking it's only a two terminal license?

Thanks! Jim

"t> Hi Pat,

MS doesn't support RMS over Terminal Services (or equivalent), but in this case, you should be able to open Manager as you are trying. I suspect that the SO Administrator on the Server you are trying to access remotely is configured as Register #1. Create a new register for the server and set SO Administrator to use this new Register Number - as long as you only open SO Manager and not POS, you won't have a license problem.
