Quicken 2006 - multiple computers

Aug 01, 2005 2 Replies

In the near future I plan to purchase Quicken 2006 (currently use Q2003 and upgrade every 2-3 years). I usually purchase it at Costco's since I go there anyway and there prices usually can't be beat.

In November I will be getting a new computer. If I buy the new version now and install it, will I have a problem later installing it on my new computer. Specifically with 2005 and earlier, did Intuit have any "protection" on the CD to prevent people from using the CD on 2 different systems? If so, can I assume that I then can call them and get directions on how to install it on the new computer?

Only way to "protect" ORIGINAL medium from reinstallation is to write a file/flag/whatever to the medium. You cannot write to a published CD-ROM.

True, but won't the real problem occur when he goes to register the product online?
