View item cost or miminum sell price from POS

Am I just stoopid? =:-)

I can't find any way to quickly view an item's cost or minimum selling price from the POS.

My cashiers are authorized to discount items to a certain extent, but I don't want them accessing Store Manager. Is there any way for the cashier to see an items cost (or minimum selling price) without using the "multiple guess" method until they are in an appropriate sales price range?

You can scan the item tab over to description and hit F2. This brings up a gray screen that tells price, cost, amount instock, committed, and available.

This would allow better security that the properties tab.

F2 - Lookup Highlight the item Click Properties (Don'e double click the item) This is the same item properties screen you would see in Manager.

when I F2 on the description of the item, the property window opens, but the cost field is blank. however the item does have a cost assigned to it, if i use glenn's method to view the item properties, the cost shows up in the cost field. we use weighted average method to update costs of inventory items. what's the problem with this?

thanks, kevin
