visanet edc setup

I am trying to setup visanet, I signed up with CITI to process credit cards no one knows anything about the setup and RMS guide is not very clear. I have attempted to set up and when I run a card I get invalid card number error?? I down loaded a setup guide from mercury would this be the same set up. Mercury seems very informative should I switch to them?? Very frustrated in Indiana the past 4 RMS local support has all went out of business microsoft gave me a list of certified microsoft techs but no one with in 80 miles nows anything about RMS Help

I am using chase. It took them 3 days to figure out which department handles rms/VISA NET. Anyway after that it took 10 business days to set up the account. Once is setup you receive setup inst for rms.

Mercury setup is not the same as the 'raw' visanet/vital setup. Mercury has made a conscious effort to support RMS and they have an created their own back-end processing systems and an installer that configures RMS to use them. Because they actually know what RMS is when you call them, they are the only payment Provider that we have ever recommended to our clients. Take that with a grain of salt though as I really don't like recommending *any* merchant services vendors; there are just too many variables that should be considered. You will have a problem switching to Mercury as they only provide services through your RMS vendor...

There are quite a few RMS resellers/partners who offer remote support services using products like WebEx, PCAnywhere, and GoToMyPC. Maybe some of the vendors you received from MS have those services.

If you received a "V Number" from Citi, then you probably have the correct account setup - and more importantly your account is set up to use Vital/VisaNet. Change the "V" to "7" when you enter it into RMS. That's the most common problem in the EDC setup from your end...

Good Luck!

Mercury is a transaction middleman for Global. Go directly to a processor like Heartland Payment Systems, Global, or Paymenttech.

This will lower the monthly fees you will pay. Wholesale Interchange Rates according to the Federal Reserve is 1.80%. You will pay 3.%+ with too many middlemen. the Middlemen will take 1.2% in this case. This is not right for retailers. Total monthly fees / total cc sales is your Rate. Don't get Bait and Switched!
