Another complaint about QB 2006

Ugh ! They took away my lists ! I can find no other way to access my customer / vendor / employee lists other than using the "centers" (fka navigators, etc). QB 2006 still has File/Edit/View/Lists/Accountant/Company/Customers/Vendors/Employees/Banking/Reports/Window/Help across the top. There are no customer / vendor / employee lists under Lists and there is no customer list under Customers, etc. Why would QB take away such a simple thing except to frustrate users have been using QB for many many years ! Ugh !

I think there are going to be many complaints about QB2006 (at least the US version) besides the lists, they removed the "Related Activities" and "Group Reports" Both of which my clients use and like. And as cutesy as the interface is, it is a huge waste of screen space. And someone mentioned the new multi-user hosting which will confuse people. I wouldn't be surprised to see Microsoft pick up some market share from this.

If you were at all familiar with the Microsoft product then you would know their product's interface is a clone of the one in QB 2006. What I am seeing is that QB 2006 destroys any reason for users wanting to switch to SBA.

One of the major selling points for Microsoft's product is a more powerful database engine. How does the fact that QB 2006 uses a more powerful database engine make users want to switch?

If you are looking for confusion then I sugest you take a look at the SBA newsgroup and read all the problems users are having configuring the program for multi-user access.

See if the lists are still available as icons for the toolbar. I'll be ok as long as that feature is still there. It certainly doesn't make sense to bury things so frequently used like that and make it more time consuming to access those things.

The lists are still there, but they did take them out of the lists menu. Do this, go to the Customer Center, then go to View in the top menu bar, and select "Show Customer List and Details". Alternately, you can just click on the little arrow on the Customers& Jobs tab on the Center. The arrow button looks like an arrow, pointing right to a vertical line. (looks like this: "-->|" ).

and it's sticky ... so if you really want just the list instead of the newer Customer Center, you can get just the list and closing it out and getting back in you'll be presented with just the list again.

I couldn't find it in the list or toolbar options, but maybe I am just overlooking it.

The question was about customer or vendor lists in QB 2006. But thanks for your help
