Keeps saying "components missing-please reinstall". Any help appreciated.

If it doesn't tell you what component(s) are missing, specific help isn't possible.
Any chance someone has removed something from the standard install of 98? If so re-installing 98 and updating may get you the components you need. Otherwise it is all on the QB CD.
Oh, unless you really have to get to a 02 file in 02, you might consider what your hourly rate is vs. 08 and a new machine.
