CGI script can't access QuickBooks - Server 2003

Dec 08, 2005 2 Replies

Hi guys,

My script works fine when I launch it myself. But when I have IIS launch it I get the following error message: 'Could not open the specified Quickbooks company data file'

There is a thread on this over at:

I did everything that they said to do there but I'm stillinghitting the above error message. Has anyone overcome similar problems?Any help would be much appriciated. One other thing to note is that when I do:

Start>run> type in dcomcnfg > scroll down to dcom Config folder, right click on QBxmlrp2e>select properties > click the identity tab > change the launching user to interactive

Then I get this error message instead: 'The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the user name and password.'

Thanks,

Greg

Select the company menu and set up IIS as a user.

I'll try that, but do you mean going to the company file's properties, selecting security, and adding IIS there, or do you mean adding a user from within Quickbooks? How should the user be set up exactly?
