Discrepancy between Balance Sheet and US$ account

I am a little baffled. When I run my Balance Sheet it has $8799.63 in the US$ account. According to the cheque register there is $2650.97 (which is right). Why would there be a difference. The canadian dollar acount is bang on. How do I solve this?

With questions like this it helps to clarify whether you are using a Canadian or US or other version, whether or not you are using the multi-currency feature, and (if so) which is your home currency. It may also be relevant which version and edition you are using, though probably not in this case.

On the assumption you are using the Canadian version with multi-currency and the home currency is CAD$, do you understand the concept of translating foreign currencies into the home currency and have you read in HELP about calculating and posting your exchange adjustments periodically? I think this is your problem. If this is new or confusing to you, seriously consider a short consultation with your accountant and/or a QuickBooks Pro Advisor.
