I frequently want to look at the GL activity in a single account. Is there a way to set the default for the GL report so that the "Display | Advanced | Advanced Options | Include" is always set to "In Use" ?

You can memorise a report that you have filtered by the single account you want to look at.
Run the GL report and then filter it for the account. Then memorise it and name it something that will let you know that it is your GL single account report.
