Well I was quite curious after reading the thread on IE& and QuickBooks compatibility. I have an old machine set up still with 2004 Pro on it. and not using it I decided to go ahead and try it out. I downloaded IE7 and installed it. That all went smooth even if it did take a long time on a 26.4 dial up connection Fired up 2004 pro and all seemed well ran a test credit card processing, that was my main concern and that all worked fine. I did do an update but as it had not been done since late in 2004 it took overnight at the dial up speed and a couple timed out, more likely the modem disconnected and it did not finish was to be an 6 hour or so DL so that is not surprising at all. The next day I did an update on the machine I use did a back up and restored that to the old machine and all still works fine. Conclusion; it is OK to upgrade to IE7 with 2004 pro. Note however I do not do payroll so that I did not try

I'm using IE7 and qb2004. The only thing I notice is getting pop ups about script errors when using the help menus. I close those and keep on using the help.
Check the options in IE7 for ways to turn off scripting errors. I think the help screens are using IE to display the html pages.
Thanks, Laura, that seems to fix that.
Now, how do I turn off the pop up that comes up every time is launch QB that says to downgrade to IE6? The only other options I'm given is to exit or remind me later.
I'm afraid I don't know that answer. I have not installed IE7 yet. Nor do I plan to for some time. This may be one error message that you have to live with.
You basically have to "trick" QB into thinking you are using IE6 instead of IE7. I wonder if specifying IE6 as your default browser will work or is IE6 gone from your machine? Could be a registry hack that is required.
