Need additional licence for 2004 Pro

We are expanding our office and an additional person needs access to a multi-user QB file. We are runnign QB 2004 and I don't want to have to buy new licences for the whole office. I can't find anything on the Intuit web site about this. (Figures)

I assume that I need an additional 2004 licence since QB 2006 versions require changing the data file format from 2004. Is that correct?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

If you already have a multi-user license, you should not need anything additional. Have the Admin log on and create a new user. Install the program on the workstation for the new person, be sure to have your registration code ready - or you can call Intuit to register the new copy.

The multi-license is not limited to number of names/users, but is instead limited to number of simultaneous log-ins.

Now, if you purchased individual licenses, and not the multi-user license, then you may have to either buy another license (I think you just purchase another copy of the software... but you may have problems since it is 2004) Additionally, if the number of simultaneous users exceeds the five person limit in the standard multi-user package you may have to upgrade to the Enterprise Edition.

Assuming you are in the US, information for setting up another user can be found at this link
