Phone numbers

Customize the invoice template.

Why not? The addressee's phone number appears on UPS labels. Surely the post office can distinguish between a telephone number and a ZIP code.

On second thought...

Never mind.

I don't know how one can get QB to pick up the customer's phone number from the built-in phone number field. (I'm talking about my version of QB - 2003 Pro UK - but it may well be the same in other versions.) But I think that you should be able to get the same result as follows:

Open the Customer:Job list Click Customer:Job and then New Select Additional Info and click Define fields Enter "Phone No" and check Customer:Jobs Click OK twice Click Lists + Templates + Invoice + Templates + Edit Select Fields and check Screen and/or Print, as desired Click Layout Designer to position the field where you want it When opening a new Customer or Job account, fill in the customer's phone number in the newly created field instead of the built-in field

Alternatively you could change the name of one of the existing fields.
