Just checked and appear to be experiencing same/similar behavior w/ R2 installed.

Report that causes crash:

Reports > Banking > Transaction and choose Subtotal by Payee.

did Intuit's offshore programmers strike again?

Update: Also found that selecting subtital by Class or Account resulted in crash on R2.

I just 'Retored' OS to 10/06 Restore Point - prior to R2 installation and these same reports do not cause crash. Verified I am back to R1 at present.

Have noted some peculiar results from this report [similar to what PSJ & others have reported in past] but no prior problems with crashing.

Please send a bug report to Intuit. I've found a deaf ear for my bug reports, but maybe they do read them.

I just verified the same crash. Quicken asked if I wanted to send a report from within the program, so I went ahead and did that. R2 was a very small update. Does anyone know what the fixes are? I don't use the affected reports, so I'm reluctant to restore my Ghost image prior to the R2 install just yet....

In Windows XP Home;

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Follow the menu options. You can choose a restore point, create a restore point, or undo previous restore.

Here's Intuit's word on what R2 includes:

formatting link
Tax Planner still does not retain user-entered data, Update Balance still uses the date of the last balance update. Frankly I don't *see* any changes other than certain reports crashing Quicken. :-(

Margaret

You don't need to do a system restore to revert to the previous Quicken program state. Just reinstall Q2006.

Thanks, good point.

I lost track of the updates. This thread is about a problem with R2. Reinstallation brings you back to, what? R0? Is there a R1 version of Quicken between R2 and the version on the CDROM?

No.

I meant to add; Quicken, out of the box, is R1 (the first Release).

Of course this is correct -- to me the system restore is much faster (uninstall r2, reboot, close av, install q 06). I had a checkpoint from yesterday w/no changes except data so chose this option.

"System Restore Points" won't do a thing to revert to an older program version.

Works just fine for me.

In process of trouble-shooting subject problem, I have 2 retore points; one called R1 and one called R2. I switch back & forth without effort!
