Auto recategorize past transactions?

So I have a number of transcations in the past I want to recategorize

- based on the name or some other method?

For example, I have payments (debit card) made to Safeway. I want to categorize it as Groceries. Can I automatically have all past payments to Safeway be categorized as Groceries?

Running Quicken 2016.

Thanks :)

Just be sure to read the drop downs correctly, especially the 'FIELD' and 'CONTAINS' to make sure you really have selected the correct entries. Basically, you 'find' what you want to change, then have Quicken on a SECOND entry to the panel actually MAKE the change based on which returned records you select to have changed as a result of the first pass. Once you hit 'REPLACE', that's it! No second chances to go back.

Cool, thought it would be more complex :)

Thanks!

But there ARE "second chances to go back". They're called ... TAKE A BACKUP before you do any of this.
