Bank Name Change

My Credit Union Bank has recently changed its name and I cannot get my Quicken 2016 Premier to let me change the bank's name to the new one. It will still download the transactions and all seems to be working well but it still accesses my bank using the old URL and this will likely be deleted by my bank sometime soon.

How can I change this bank URL in my Quicken software without starting all over as if I had moved all my accounts to a different bank.

You need to, first, deactivate the account from download. TOOLS, Account List, click EDIT across from the name of the account, click Online Services and Deactivate. Do the deactivate steps for all accounts at the CU. Exit Q, Restart Q.

Then, TOOLS, Account List, Edit, blank out the old CU name, and (if it changed) the old acct nbr), Online Services, Activate. Repeat for all accounts at the CU.

Thanks, Dan, I'll give this a try tomorrow after I've made a new backup and made sure I can open it if the above process doesn't work out well. I sure don't want to lose all my long-time account information. Gordon

I tried to get this changed but it seems my CU name and credentials have not yet been registered with the Quicken Online Services list of banks, so I'll just wait a few more days and see if this gets taken care of. As long as my Quicken software is working satisfactorily with the old CU name and credentials I'm not in any serious kind of trouble. I just want to get this all corrected and working right before tax prep time gets here.

That's the new CU's name? I can look them up.

The new CU's name is True Sky Credit Union. The old name was FAA Credit Union and their web site is

This started out as a small credit union for Federal Aviation Administration employees but it is now a very large credit union, used by many who are in no way affiliated with the Federal Aviation Administration.

I think the problem is that a new URL has not yet been set up. My Quicken software still makes contact at the old URL.

In Q's database, the FAA CU name is still listed ... and True Sky isn't listed. SO, stick with the FAA name for now.

Thanks, Dan, this is the only option, I guess. They should get the URL changed/updated in a few more days. I'll just sit tight and wait for them to get this finished. My main concern has been that I might no be able to update my Quicken files if they changed the URL and I didn't have my Quicken log-in info updated.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just because the public URL/name changes, doesn't mean they won't continue to maintain the previous ones.

Financial institutions change names all the time, usually when they are acquired and Quicken handles it with no problem, usually behind the scenes with no user interaction required. If for some reason OSU stops working, you just disable downloads, then reeanble them.

Thanks, Arthur, I overreacted to this problem and probably should have waited until my Credit Union got things all set up and ready to go. I was primarily concerned that I might not be able to download my transactions and would have to go through a whole new setup that might cause the files with the old transactions to be lost.
