Duplicate transactions - AAA Mastercard

I have a AAA Mastercard. The bank does not support direct connect so I use web connect to download. Beginning a month or two ago, every transaction appears twice in the register although the payee's names are not identical and the categoy only automatically appears for one of the pair of transactions. Quicken Deluxe 2016 release 10.

I do have direct connect for my Target card. Every month I get a duplication of the payment made on the card, the sales transactions no problem.

Anyone else seeing either of these issues and is there a solution?

Yet ANOTHER reason why I do NOT use Quicken downloads, aside from share prices.

Your financial institution is responsible for the contents of a Web Connect download. If there are duplicate transactions in a Web Connect download, only your financial institution can address that problem.

You should be able to examine the downloaded Web Connect data. You can have the downloaded data saved as a .QFX file or you can examine the Quicken OFX Log file (Help > Log Files > OFX Log). If you start with the OFX Log in Quicken, use the "Save as" button to create a . TXT file.

The downloaded data (the .QFX file, or the .TXT file created from the Quicken OFX Log) is readable in programs such as Notepad, though it may not be 100% clear to you what it all means. You can "search" that file for amounts that you find duplicated in Quicken to see whether there are duplicate transactions for the same amount.

Here is an example of a downloaded credit card "charge" transaction.

DEBIT

20150629000000.000

-430.2

51800220666593 320151800220666593 TRAVELOCITY BELLEVUE 063309 AIRLINE/AIR CARRIER

If you find more than one downloaded transaction for the same real-world transaction, note whether the downloaded transactions have the same .
