Chase accounts

I have two credit card accounts and a checking account through Chase. One of the CC's is a former First USA and the checking is a former Bank One.

A couple of weeks ago while downloading from the site I got the message that I guess a lot of you have seen about turning off your downloading ability in the Chase accts and then turning it back on (the short version). I never turned them back on because I saw that Chase was going to charge me a monthly fee to download activity.

Today I went to the Chase site and noticed that "download activity" is available for the former FUSA credit card but not for the other Chase card.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

DP;

I also had a First USA account that is now a Chase. I just followed the instruction and didn't have any problems.

I wasn't aware that Chase was charging for downloads...where did you see that...?

Need to separate checking from Credit cards. DirectConnect from CC's are typically free, but from Checking $$$$.

As Stealth has already said, it's because I have checking with them.

I guess I'll have to try to figure out if I can set up CCs for download without including the checking and avoid the charge. As far as I can tell, the charge also includes online billpay via the checking. So that may not be a bad deal, given what online billpay costs at most banks.

Don't know about 'most banks'. Online bill-pay is free at Wachovia and many others.

Hey at least you guys can download directly through Quicken. My Chase credit card requires a logon to their site and a download from there. What a pain!

My Chase credit card downloads direct from within Quicken.

Log on to the Chase web site and go to the Customer Center. Click on "Activate Money, Quicken, etc." and you can configure your account for direct Quicken access.

Well I had a BankOne card that morphed into a FUSA card then a Chase card. It's done direct download into quicken for as long as I can remember. Recently there was some wierdness- first the pin disappeared from the pin vault and had to be re-entered, then a couple times I got those OL-thisorthat-A errors and had to retry later and it worked. Twice I've had to deactivate and reactive the online service but I've chalked it up to changes in the online system. It worked today. If they are going to charge me, they haven't said anything.
